This internship performs a variety of professional, technical and administrative duties in support of the development, implementation and administration of Human Resources programs and activities.
This position will primarily focus on following projects:

Records Management: Assist in Human Resources records management tasks to include:
- Performing digital conversion of personnel records
- Conducting file audits, organizing and preparing documents for archiving and dissemination to the State Archives (physical and digital files)
- Organizing digital file systems to include HRIS software, SharePoint, and OneDrive.

Emergency Management:
- Emergency Worker Policy and Manual Development: Assist the Risk Manager in drafting an emergency worker (CERT) policy manual for the City of Lake Stevens. Ensure alignment with FEMA guidelines, state regulations, and local policies.
- Tabletop Exercises (Emergency Management): research best practices, identify exercise topics based on existing city emergency plans, and develop tabletop scenarios.
- COOP Planning: Support the Risk Manager in the City’s Continuity of Operations Planning efforts by conducting research, preparing meeting materials, and drafting selected chapters of the plan.
- Emergency Action Plan research and alignment with County EAP, Emergency Management SharePoint site update.

Safety & Training
- Assist Safety Coordinator with various Safety Week initiatives (Safe and Sound Week, Great Shakeout).
- Developing digital safety reporting and audit forms for SharePoint use.
- Complete annual Safety Data Sheet audit and update.
- Support Safety Coordinator in online training creation.
