Marketing & Strategy Resident, Temporary Student Position

Department Summary

Our exclusive Entrepreneurial Residency Program is designed to give you comprehensive experience in the fast-paced world of wireless, technology, and partnership sponsorships. With hands-on business and field experience, you will get an in-depth look at how our business works and where you fit into it. Help us build our brand while we help you build yours.

 

This program runs for 9 weeks from June 8, 2026 through August 7, 2026 in Miami, FL. This temporary student position will be paid on an hourly basis and is overtime eligible. 

 

You will partner with teams across EchoStar, specifically Boost Mobile, to drive our latest game-changing innovation. Our Entrepreneurial Residents are given a business project(s) with a focus on marketing and operations to complete over the summer and present their results to leadership and their peers. EchoStar provides each participant with a manager to support them with the execution of their project. Our residents will get access to senior executive leaders and subject-matter-experts to deepen their knowledge and help apply their knowledge directly. 


Job Duties and Responsibilities
 

EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for a Marketing & Strategy Resident. This position will be located in Miami, FL.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the Mission: Ideate, plan, and resource in-market campaigns & activations. You aren't just attending the event; you’re coming up with new ideas, planning their execution, and making sure it runs seamlessly from concept to completion.
  • Market Research: Use AI-assisted tools and in-market research to conduct deep-dive research into consumer segments and competitors, helping us stay three steps ahead of the competition.
  • Architect: Draft campaign briefs, positioning summaries, and creative concepts that define how our brand shows up in the wild.
  • Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for on-campus and off-campus entities, building the relationships that make our marketing activities possible.
  • Executive Visibility: You won't just do the work; you’ll report on it. You will prepare executive-ready summaries and present your planning materials directly to leadership.


Skills, Experience and Requirements
 

Education and Experience:

  • Currently enrolled at the University of Miami (FL) in an undergraduate or graduate program focused on Business, Sports Marketing or Administration, Interactive Media, Entrepreneurship, Public Relations, Advertising, or Communications
  • GPA of 3.3 or above
  • Coursework in sports marketing, experiential marketing, brand marketing, community-based marketing, operations, and/or innovation 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong communication, structured thinking, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Interest or current education focus in field marketing, experiential branding, or regional marketing strategy
  • Interest in telecom, media, wireless, or digital platforms is a plus
  • Intermediate AI literacy (ChatGPT, analytics tools, AI-assisted research/content)
  • Experience producing digital content for internet and social media platforms
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment screen including a reference check and criminal background check
  • Interested in community-centered strategies and event-led growth across large-scale retail environments
  • Analytical experience in using data to drive decision making
  • Roll-up-the-sleeves mentality with a comfort level moving seamlessly from executive boardrooms to events in the community
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
  • Must be based in the Miami area for the duration of the program
  • Capability to fulfill duties through remote work, field-based activities, or occasional travel as necessary

Salary Ranges

Compensation: $30.00/Hour

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
