Job Summary
The Account Coordinator is the glue that holds our integrated team of professionals together - working to support both the brand & marketing team and the PR team at Kane. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the senior account team as they research, plan and execute brand, marketing, communications, and public relations activities for our clients in business, social services, government, and health care. You will play a critical role - coordinating projects and assuring alignment between team members, deadlines and timelines. You will work as a right hand to our marketing and PR advisors, helping them to gather and convey information between clients, strategists, creative team members, vendors, and others.
Accountabilities
Before applying, ensure this is the right seat for you on our team. At Kane, the Account Coordinator is accountable for the following:
- Client service: Write agendas, schedule meetings, take meeting notes and develop recaps, conduct research for missing information and other activities and project tasks as needed; serve as a secondary point of contact for secured clients; establishing and maintaining relationships with support staff
- Research: industry trends, competitors, audience demographics, media tactics, current events and news, media-relevant influencers and specific editorial beats per client, pulling and organizing reports from research tools

Creative and vendor project management: work with the internal talent and external vendors to:
- Collect quotes
- Gather and send files
- Facilitate reviews, client changes, and meetings
- Create and manage production schedules
- Gather and send feedback and facilitate questions/input between internal team and vendors

Writing, editing and proofreading a wide variety of materials:
- Media materials such as fact sheets, media alerts, bios, owned content, employee communications, presentations
- Marketing materials such as website content, blog articles, advertisements, and radio scripts, emails, flyers and more
- Social media posts
- Social media: Research for and draft content to submit to client social media platforms; source and organize content (i.e. relevant articles, images, media placements, etc.) for clients’ social media calendars; review social listening tools and generate reports; design social graphics
- Media monitoring: Scan for client media coverage, trends, new media contacts; track all press coverage (sourcing links and hard copies where needed) and create media reports; communicate all findings to appropriate team leads and compile media coverage reports to provide to clients
- Media relations: Pull editorial calendars and highlight opportunities for each client; create and maintain targeted media lists for broadcast, print, and online outlets, create reporter briefing sheets; draft pitches and corresponding lists and reactive media responses
- Speaking and awards: Create and update yearly calendars with speaking and awards opportunities, pull together abstracts and awards submission drafts and submit the abstracts to nominate the company, individual or product

Prep work: Assist with work for media events and desk sides, including creating invite lists, organizing tables or displays, on-site social media, arranging car services and creating post-event reports with media feedback
- Perform ad hoc account management and administrative tasks as assigned
- Pitch or submit agency work for public recognition & awards
- Participating in and attending networking events

Job Qualifications
Required experience and core competencies for this position include:
- Four-year degree in communications, marketing, advertising or public relations
- One year experience in an agency (PR or marketing) or corporate communications setting
- Familiarity with basic tools used in both PR and marketing: press releases, creative briefs, production schedules, social media
- Experience working in a professional setting, taking meeting notes and assisting with basic office functions
- Experience writing for social, public relations or other communications platforms using Associated Press (AP) Style
- Experience or familiarity with any of the following is nice to have: (Kane will provide training for tools as necessary.)
- Email management, such as Constant Contact or MailChimp
- Project management tools
- Media monitoring tools, such as Meltwater
- Website content management, such as WordPress or Squarespace
- Social management or monitoring tools, such as Brand24, Radian6, Hootsuite or Sprout Social
- Website and SEO measurement tools such as Google Analytics
- Design tools such as the Adobe Creative Suite or Canva
- Research tools such as SurveyMonkey or Google Forms
- Time-tracking software such as Workamajig
