Communications Program Assistant
Position Overview
The Textile Society of America (TSA) seeks a Communications & Program Assistant to support outreach, communications, and content coordination for its Fall Colloquium 2026. This role is ideal for someone interested in nonprofit arts programming, publications, and event communications.
Working closely with TSA leadership, the Assistant will help promote the colloquium, coordinate materials from participating speakers, and support documentation and content production before, during, and after the event.
Key Responsibilities
- Support outreach and promotion of the Fall Colloquium across TSA platforms and networks
- Assist in identifying and conducting outreach to potential sponsors
- Collect and organize materials from speakers, including abstracts, images, and related content
- Support the collection of papers and images from Spring and Fall colloquia for inclusion in Proceedings
- Research and help secure captioning services for virtual colloquium components, as needed
- Contribute to the Fall Newsletter, including development of a Fall Colloquium feature and support with layout/design
- Ensure consistency and clarity across communications and materials
- Support production of a Colloquium recap video, including coordination of onsite photo/video and virtual program recordings
Desired Skills & Qualifications
- Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills
- Experience with or interest in communications, publications, or event coordination
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines over a longer-term project
- Familiarity with basic design tools (Canva, Adobe, etc.) is a plus
- Interest in arts, culture, or textiles

Compensation & Benefits
In exchange for this work, TSA offers:
- A $2,000 stipend
- A one-year TSA Individual Membership, providing eligibility for TSA grants and awards
