Development Coordinator

Lowell Arts is seeking a part-time Development Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in growing community support for our organization; building relationships, securing funding, and helping ensure that the arts remain a vibrant part of life in West Michigan.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: Commensurate with experience

Work Location: Lowell Arts, 223 W Main St, Lowell, MI 49331

This position is 24–32 hours per week. Work schedule is flexible, Tuesday through Friday, 10am–6pm. Some evenings and weekends will be required.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee development initiatives and coordinate donor cultivation and retention plans
  • Collaborate with the Fundraising Committee to identify and pursue strategic fundraising opportunities
  • Seek out and build community relationships that lead to increased funding and sponsorships
  • Communicate and meet with key stakeholders to ensure clarity on project objectives and fundraising goals
  • Report on fundraising progress to senior leadership and assist with various program tasks
  • Lead and coordinate volunteer teams in support of development activities
  • Provide friendly, donor-centered service and represent Lowell Arts professionally at the gallery desk and in the community

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • At least 1 year of fundraising experience with demonstrated success meeting goals through diverse funding streams
  • Proven experience securing individual major gifts (of at least $3,000) and donations / sponsorships through events
  • Experience working in donor databases; Little Green Light experience preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable on the phone and with stakeholder meetings
  • Ability to work within a budget
  • Valid driver's license and reliable access to a vehicle

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with or willingness to learn planned/legacy giving
  • Grant writing experience
