Unity Simulation Intern

COMPANY: Avyon Consulting Group — National Readiness Lab

LOCATION: Hybrid — Houston, TX (on-site) + Remote

DURATION: June — October 2026 (5 months)

COMPENSATION: Paid ($20–$25/hr)

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

This isn't a typical internship. You're not getting coffee, shadowing, or doing research. You're writing code and shipping a product.

Avyon Consulting Group is an 8(a) certified defense contractor building technology the government doesn't have yet. Through our National Readiness Lab, we're developing combat training rehearsal and trauma response simulation software for the Department of Defense. The tools you build will be used to train medics, first responders, and warfighters. Your skills can literally save lives.

We're looking for 4 driven interns to join a prototype sprint team with one clear goal: deliver a working prototype by the end of the engagement.

This is ground floor. Three products on the roadmap that don't exist anywhere else. Your fingerprints will be on everything.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Building 3D simulation environments in Unity for combat training and trauma response scenarios
- Developing interactive training applications using C#
- Integrating simulation tools with backend systems
- Working alongside senior engineers to ship a real, functional product
- Demoing your work directly to government customers
- Working on-site in Houston for collaboration days and remotely for heads-down development

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Game Development, Software Engineering, Simulation, or related field
- Hands-on Unity 3D and C# experience required (class projects count, but we want to see what you've built)
- Ability to build and ship functional applications, not just assignments
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, startup environment with real deadlines
- US Citizenship preferred

NICE TO HAVE:

- Experience with simulation programs in aerospace, defense, or government environments (NASA, SpaceX, Blue Origin, etc.)
- Weapon simulation or military training simulation experience
- 3D modeling, physics engines, or real-time rendering experience
- AR/VR development experience (Oculus, HoloLens)
- Knowledge of machine learning or AI concepts
- Interest in defense tech, military training, or healthcare simulation

WHY THIS INTERNSHIP:

- $20–$25/hr, hands-on from day one
- Your code goes directly into DoD products, not a shelf
- Startup energy with real defense contracts behind it
- A team that's building something that matters
- Demo your work to actual government customers
- A path to full-time if you deliver

HOW TO APPLY:

Send your resume, GitHub profile, and any portfolio or project links to annusa@snrgy.tech. We want to see what you've built.
