UGC Social Media Content Creator Intern
Social Marketing Creative Intern
The Role!
We are looking for multiple individuals to create short-form content on TikTok and Instagram to promote mobile applications in the education space—marketing to college students.
This is a part-time commitment. Hours are totally flexible.
What experience you can expect to gain from this:
- How AI is used in 2026 to augment UGC marketing efforts. (Your class cirriculum literally can't be made fast enough before strategies become outdated).
- Learn to systematically find and create viral content.
- Learn the essentials of scaling digital B2C products.
- Learn to create and leverage a personal brand.
- You will have a concrete portfolio of content that you can share with any future employer.
Some Skills You Need:
- Video editing for mobile — fluent in CapCut, TikTok's native editor, or any editor of choice. They need to handle filming, editing, captions, music, and pacing.
- Speed over perfection — You need to be able to produce quickly. We don't want to nitpick every video. “Done is better than perfect.”
- Native fluency with TikTok and Instagram Reels — (literally just think like a zoomer). You don't just use the apps, but you understand the for you page, what's trending, hook structures, sound trends, and short-form pacing instincts.
- Basic on-camera presence — comfortable speaking to a camera in a natural, conversational way (like FaceTiming a friend).
- Basic film/lighting understanding — knows how to use natural light, frame a shot, get usable audio, stage a clean background. You don't need any pro equipment, just the skills to make the most of your phone.
- Coachability — the ability to take small pieces of actionable feedback and implement a change. We will be iterating on our content, and I want to help align the product's vision with your skills!
Nice-to-haves:
- Existing TikTok/Instagram presence (any size — shows they understand the platforms from the inside)
- Is genuinely a student who studies a lot — authenticity will come through. We are building a product to help you!
- An existing portfolio of Shorts / TikToks
- Has run a niche/themed account before
- Studies in an aesthetically friendly space (good natural light, clean dorm/apartment)
- Has a second device for filming themselves using the app
What you don't need:
- Marketing degree or coursework. Handshake forces a field of study, but your major will not penalize you at all.
- Graphic design skills (We provide assets)
- Original creative direction (you provide the formats). Creativity is encouraged and accepted, but definitely not required.
- Professional camera or equipment. (An iPhone will suffice).
