Ctrl+Z Teens is a Social + Culture Magazine that captures more than just news: it documents what impacts teen life, perspective, and experience. Our tagline, Undoing, Rethinking, and Rewriting Teen Culture matters because we want to publish stories that matter to teens.
Reporting for #TeenWritersProject is a highly collaborative and creative opportunity for young people to gain experience in career and leadership development, life skill development, community service and reading, writing, social and cultural literacy. Not only will you work collaboratively with other youth and adult members to brainstorm and develop ideas for stories for our Culture Zine, you will actively engage with teens to recruit, encourage, support, lead and have creative fun!
Duties include:
- Writes a recurring commentary piece each issue,
- Offering personal insight or opinion on culture, politics, or teen life
- Pitching column topics to the Managing Editor
- Submitting drafts on deadline, and revises with editor feedback
- Recruiting of teen writers for section topic
- Assisting with writing workshops

- Education Editor - school life, scholarship info, our workshops.
- Politics Editor – current events, advocacy, commentary.
- Lifestyle Editor – mental health, relationships.
- Features Editor – long-form investigations, interviews, profiles.
