Role Description
We are looking for a Live Event Clipper to join Off The Press's Rapid Clipping Team. This is a fully remote role for journalists and video editors who thrive in fast-paced news environments and know how to identify the moment before it trends.
As a Live Event Clipper, you will:
- Monitor live events in real time — Capitol Hill hearings, press conferences, and more
- Identify compelling moments as they happen
- Quickly clip, caption, and publish videos to social platforms, including Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, and X
- Collaborate with team to maintain a daily schedule of events and ensure livestreams are set up on Off The Press platforms
In this role, speed matters — but strong instincts matter more. Your work will power Off The Press across several social media platforms and deliver content our audience won’t see elsewhere.
You’re a Great Fit If You:
- Can edit, caption, and publish accurately within minutes
- Are comfortable monitoring live events for extended periods
- Understand how different social platforms reward different strategies
- Have strong news instincts and recognize moments that will resonate immediately
- Have experience using Adobe Premiere or similar editing software
Compensation & Structure
- $30 per hour
- Fully remote
- 1099 independent contractor role
