HR Internship Opportunity
Schunk Carbon is pleased to offer an HR Internship to assist our HR Manager in an administrative capacity. We intend to make this an interesting position that will provide you with great experience. Ideally the internship will begin in May or June and last until mid to late September or when school starts. Possible part-time flex hours beyond the initial Internship period with some work-from-home capabilities beginning in the fall.

Essential Job Functions (Job-Specific Knowledge/Skills)
- Assist with HR administrative tasks, including maintaining employee files and updating HR databases
- Track and report temporary employees working hours and timecards to authorized staffing agencies
- Benefits administration – processing eligibility changes and premium invoices
- Review time and attendance used for payroll purposes
- Assist with onboarding new employees, including conducting orientations and processing new hire paperwork
- Responding to staff inquiries regarding HR policies, employee benefits, and other HR-related matters
- Running reports and a variety of other administrative tasks
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources or related field
- Familiarity with HRIS (Human Resources Information System) software (ADP – WFN) a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel
- The ability to work as part of a team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent administrative and organizational skills
- Effective communication skills
- Detail-oriented
Typical Working Hours
Mon-Fri 8:00 am – 4:30 pm (but work schedule is flexible)
