Position Summary
The University at Buffalo’s Registrar’s Office seeks to hire a dynamic, detail-driven Student Solutions and Transcripts and Certification Specialist that is committed to delivering exceptional, student-centered service. The Specialist will need to understand and enforce academic policies while maintaining data in the student information system (HUB) and troubleshooting issues that arise. The Specialist is responsible for overseeing and continuously assessing and improving key processes under their purview, while also providing customer service in person and via phone and email. This position reports to the Student Solutions Specialist and Transcripts Lead.
Key accountabilities and responsibilities:
- Processing and continuous improvement of the licensures and certification process
- Transcripts processing
- Transcripts Parchment customer service and troubleshooting
- Contribute to student success and retention by providing excellent customer service in person in 1Capen as well as via phone and email
- Maintain and update historical student records
- Perform testing and validation associated with system upgrades and enhancements

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with one (1) year professional work experience required and competencies in the following areas:
- Interpersonal communication skills (oral and written) with tact and diplomacy exhibiting understanding, appreciation and respect for all individuals in a diverse environment
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and high attentiveness to detail. Ability to work well under pressure, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
- Strong technological competence to learn and adapt to new applications and systems
- Possess and display a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement
- Strong working knowledge of MS office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work in a diverse environment exhibiting understanding, appreciation and respect for all individuals.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with diverse populations.
Preferred Qualifications
- More than 1 year professional work experience in a higher education setting with a focus on student service, student record management and transcripts
- Experience troubleshooting in a technical environment
- Experience with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions

$51,261 - $53,500
