Managing Editor 

WBRZ is seeking a detail-driven Managing Editor to lead and elevate our newsgathering/ digital news team. This role oversees digital producers who populate our digital platforms and social media pages; they're also responsible for traditional "assignment desk" tasks.  The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced newsroom, understands the importance of speed and accuracy, and is passionate about winning at breaking news and daily coverage across all platforms. 

You'll be working in South Louisiana’s only family-owned television station, committed to delivering impactful, local journalism. We have an award-winning investigative team, as well as serving as the official station of LSU and Southern University.  

Applicant Requirements

  • Proven newsroom experience in digital, assignment desk, or editorial leadership role (at least 2 years in a professional newsroom)
  • Strong news judgment and understanding of breaking news urgency
  • Experience managing teams and holding staff accountable to performance standards
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
