Campaign manager
Jason is seeking a campaign manager to run his 2026 campaign. This will be the senior staff member that will direct all aspects of a candidate's campaign, including strategy, staffing, budgeting, and fundraising. The campaign manager will execute the campaign's overall plan, serving as the primary leader behind the candidate. In addition to working with the candidate, other staff, volunteers, and constituents, the campaign manager will also act as the liaison from the campaign to the campaign kitchen cabinet, campaign strategists, political leaders, and friends and family of the candidate as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategy & Planning: Implements the overall campaign plan, including scheduling, fundraising goals, and voter outreach tactics
- Team Management: Hires and oversees campaign staff, volunteers, and consultants
- Fundraising & Budgeting: Oversees the fundraising plan, including overseeing donor calls, event planning, and allocating funds
- Candidate Management: Manages the candidate’s time and schedule to ensure they are properly prepared for events, media, and fundraising
- Operations & Logistics: Oversees campaign operations, such as direct voter contact, digital content and messaging
Core Skills & Requirements:
- Organization & Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects, meet tight deadlines, and work under intense pressure
- Leadership & Communication: Strong skills in decision-making and clear communication, acting as the primary liaison between staff and the candidate
- Political Experience: Background in campaigns is preferred, alongside knowledge of campaign finance law and voter analytics
- Discretion & Judgement: Exercises high-level judgment, often serving as a public face or spokesperson for the campaign
Time Commitment:
This is a part-time position estimated at 20 hours per week. The election is September 8. The get-out-the-vote (GOTV) is three weeks prior to the September 8. Availability during these three weeks is important to the role.
Location: The majority of work for this position will occur within Providence’s Ward 3 and the potential candidate will need to be available for in person work in Ward 3.
