Digital Marketing Internship

M+D, a content strategy shop with a specialty in live events, has partnered with San Francisco-based NewCo to launch NewCo Miami ? an immersive business festival intended to showcase diverse business and career opportunities in South Florida. NewCo, which partners with local companies and startups to open their offices to conference attendees, has been produced in over 20 cities around the world and applies a unique format ? the content of business conference, the feel of a music festival, and the model of an artist open studio. Attendees of NewCo will choose specific industry tracks (or geographic clusters) based on the local market and engage directly with executives and founders who are transforming Miami into a global hub for business and entrepreneurship. The Knight Foundation is supporting NewCo Miami to help advance its mission to connect Miami's growing entrepreneurial class with established businesses and budding startups. M+D is responsible for the entire production, including content and partnership development, festival operations, sponsorship, marketing, and attendee acquisition.

To succeed in this effort, M+D is looking for a digital marketing manager to develop, implement, track and optimize our digital marketing campaigns across all digital channels. This is a contract position running from November 2017 - March 2018. The NewCo Miami festival is scheduled for March 25-26, 2018.

Scope of work
  •   Develop and manage marketing database, email, social media and/or digital advertising campaigns
  • Work with executive director to identify target audiences and devise digital campaigns that engage and inform to build an attendee audience and drive ticket sales
  • Work with executive director to develop marketing deliverables for sponsors, partners and participating host companies
  •  Support executive director in sales and marketing efforts (proposal generation, contact management, research, and general admin)
  • Run A/B and multivariate experiments
  •  Measuring and reporting on the performance of all digital marketing campaigns
  • Social media content creation (copy/visual/creative) and management
  • Utilize effective strategies for email list building
  • Develop post-festival correspondence with partners to ensure strong long-term relationship building

Key attributes
  • Proven working experience in digital and/or content marketing
  • Experience with live event sales and marketing
  • Experience in effective copywriting, art direction and social media content production
