About Storyline Strategies

We create research-driven narratives that transform. Harnessing unparalleled creativity and uncompromising precision, we provide storytelling research, insights, and strategy for the most influential and ascendant companies in tech, entertainment, nonprofit, and public policy.

From messaging architectures to brand platforms, from policy to product, our team of strategy, messaging, design, and research experts hones communications insights to craft stories that help our clients confidently tell their own.

At the heart of our organization is our mission to be an indispensable strategic partner with diverse, innovative, and global capabilities.

About the Role

We’re seeking a bright, driven individual to join our growing enterprise as a Design Intern for Summer 2026-- someone who is passionate about information and UX/UI design and has an exceptional eye for detail. This is an incredible opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience and professional connections within a fast-paced market research environment.

Reporting directly to our Director of Narrative & Design, you'll be instrumental in translating complex research findings into clear, compelling visual narratives. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Applying and extending our newly refreshed brand system across digital deliverables — using Google Slides, PowerPoint, Figma, and InDesign — to build a consistent, production-ready template library.
  • Designing and formatting internal and client-facing deliverables, including presentations, memos, infographics, and videos.
  • Creating visual elements that adhere to and evolve our brand guidelines across formats and mediums.
  • Executing precise data visualizations that accurately and effectively communicate complex information.
  • Contributing to the design and prototyping of web-based interactive reporting experiences, bringing a UX/UI lens to how research findings are presented digitally.
  • Ensuring all designs strictly adhere to brand and reporting guidelines, maintaining consistency and a high level of accuracy across all materials.

A key component of this internship is a capstone project that serves as a tangible demonstration of your learning and contributions. This deliverable not only reinforces your practical experience but also enhances your professional portfolio, illustrating your ability to both lead a strategic effort and apply theoretical knowledge to real-world challenges.

Regardless of your location, you'll be expected to be available during at least part of the standard Eastern Time business day to ensure effective collaboration.

Who We're Looking For (Qualifications)

You're a college junior or senior, recent graduate, or a young professional with a keen interest in design within the market research or communications consulting world. You possess:

  • Strong communication skills (a priority for a remote role).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in visual execution.
  • A team-player mindset with a strong work ethic and a willingness to tackle any challenge.
  • Background, experience, or relevant coursework in graphic design, visual media, market research, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of information design principles and the ability to translate data into clear visuals.
  • Experience with or a strong aptitude for Google Slides and PowerPoint for professional presentations.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) or comparable professional software (intermediate or working knowledge at minimum).
  • Experience with or strong aptitude for Figma, including component-based design and prototyping.
  • Familiarity with UX/UI principles, particularly as applied to data presentation or reporting interfaces; coursework or portfolio work in product design is a plus.
