Job Title: Aquatics Director – Summer 2026
Organization: Woodruff Scout Camp (Atlanta Area Council, Scouting America)
Location: Blairsville, GA
Dates of Employment: May 16, 2026 – July 19, 2026
Training Requirement: National Camp School (May 9–15, 2026)
Compensation: $450/week (housing, meals, and most uniform items provided)

Position Overview

Woodruff Scout Camp—Scouting America’s largest council-operated summer camp—is seeking a motivated and experienced Aquatics Director to lead our lakeside aquatics program for Summer 2026.

Serving over 8,000 campers each summer, Woodruff’s Aquatics program is a cornerstone of the camp experience. The Aquatics Director plays a critical leadership role in ensuring safe, engaging, and high-quality waterfront programming for Scouts from across the country.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aquatics operations including swimming, boating, and waterfront safety
  • Supervise, train, and mentor aquatics staff
  • Ensure compliance with all Scouting America and National Camp Accreditation Program (NCAP) standards
  • Manage daily program schedules, swim checks, and open program activities
  • Maintain aquatics equipment, docks, and waterfront facilities
  • Coordinate emergency action plans and safety procedures
  • Support overall camp operations and contribute to camp-wide programs and events

Required Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must be able to attend and successfully complete Scouting America National Camp School (Aquatics) (May 9–15, 2026)
  • Must be available for the full camp season: May 16 – July 19, 2026
  • Current Lifeguard certification OR willingness to obtain certification prior to May 9, 2026
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous camp or aquatics leadership experience
  • Experience supervising staff or leading teams
  • Background in outdoor education, recreation, or youth development
