About the Role
Sol Camps NYC is an international summer program for students aged 14–18. We are hiring one instructor to teach Business Leadership and Applied AI & App Design as part of a hands‑on, project‑based curriculum.
Ideally, this instructor can teach both business and AI topics.
However, candidates who feel confident teaching one of the two areas are still encouraged to apply.
What You’ll Teach
Business & Leadership
- Entrepreneurship & problem‑solving
- Communication, teamwork, and ethics
- Project planning and pitching
Applied AI & App Design
- Foundations of AI & machine learning (conceptual, hands‑on)
- Beginner‑friendly AI tools (e.g. Teachable Machine, chatbots, automation tools)
- Data exploration & visualization (intro‑level Python/Colab or no‑code tools)
- UX + AI integration and ethical considerations
- Guiding students through group projects and presentations
(All curriculum and lesson materials are provided.)
Key Responsibilities
- Lead interactive, project‑based lessons (not lecture‑heavy)
- Explain technical concepts clearly to non‑technical teens
- Facilitate group work, discussions, and student presentations
- Support students as they build and pitch projects
- Collaborate with camp leadership and attend staff training
Minimum Requirements
- Background in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, EdTech, Product, Engineering, or related fields
- Prior teaching, tutoring, TA, bootcamp, or facilitation experience
- Comfort working with students aged 14–18
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Availability for the full program in July 2026
- Eligible to work in the U.S. and pass a background check
Technical Comfort (Expected)
You should be comfortable with some of the following:
- Core AI/ML concepts (training data, bias, accuracy)
- Data visualization and basic data analysis
- Beginner Python notebooks or no‑code / low‑code AI tools
- Modern AI tools (e.g. chatbots, automation, AI‑assisted design)
