Associate Director of Visual Arts Education

 Beck Center for the Arts seeks an experienced and dynamic individual to join us in the role of Associate Director of Visual Arts Education. Target start date for the position is June 1, 2026.

As a member of the six-person leadership team for Beck Center’s Education Department, the Associate Director of Visual Arts Education (AD) is responsible, along with the Director of Education, for the design, implementation, management and supervision of the visual arts faculty, class content, and programming, with success being measured by customer satisfaction, enrollment and participation results, budget management, customer renewals and new referrals. Working closely with the Director of Education and Beck Center colleagues, the AD will align the visual arts program with Beck Center’s strategic plan, represent the organization at community events, develop concepts, participate in interdepartmental collaborations, and manage relationships of constituents in thorough and meaningful ways to encourage participation and understanding of Beck Center and our programs.

The AD’s essential functions will also include but are not limited to: supervising 10-15 individuals who work part-time as faculty (this includes recruiting/hiring/setting schedules/submitting payroll); teaching an appropriate number of classes throughout the year as well as substituting for faculty as needed; procuring and managing supplies for the visual arts department; creating catalogue entries for visual arts programming including classes, camps and workshops; and oversee and produce special events that are related to Education programs including, but not limited to 7-10 visual arts exhibitions - including the curating, installing, management of inventory, deinstallation, and receptions.

It is preferred that candidate possess a bachelor’s degree in arts education or a related artistic field and brings 3-5 years of teaching and/or management in a community-based setting. The ideal candidate should be an organized, detail-oriented, pro-active, articulate, customer-service oriented and energetic individual who possesses an ability to work well with students, families, colleagues, and community members. Proficiency in Office Suite and various types of software is a must. Based on skill sets, the candidate will teach in visual arts programs and/or community programs.

 Salary range will be $43,000-$46,000 annually. The full time, exempt position includes paid sick, personal, and vacation days. Also included are tickets to all Beck Center performances, and greatly reduced enrollment fees for classes and lessons for the Associate Director and immediate family members. There is a 403(b)-retirement option.
