Communications Intern
Our prestigious nonprofit, https://ChangingThePresent.org, offers outstanding Communications internships.
What you’ll do:
• Write and ship clear, compelling communications that drive action: donor conversion, gifting participation, partner engagement, and community growth.
• Translate complex programs into simple, skimmable messaging for different audiences (donors, students, nonprofits, partners, and internal teams) without losing accuracy.
• Create content across channels: email, web copy, social, short-form posts, program pages, FAQs, and internal updates.
• Plan and execute social campaigns (including LinkedIn): audience targeting, post sequences, creative briefs, publishing cadence, and repurposing content across formats.
• Engage with social media influencers and partners: outreach, tracking, briefing,
coordination, and follow-through to drive measurable awareness and participation.
• Maintain a consistent voice and brand across many initiatives while tailoring tone and framing to each audience and goal.
• Support campaigns end-to-end: message strategy, asset creation, launch coordination, follow-ups, and performance learning.
• Build reusable communication assets: templates, playbooks, messaging libraries, and response kits so teams move faster and sound consistent.
• Track what works: basic performance measurement (opens/clicks, engagement, conversions), simple testing, and iterative improvement.
• Work in a professional workflow: teams, shared tools, Kanban tickets, clear deliverables, and regular mentor check-ins.
Project tracks (you’ll be placed into 1 primary track):
• Social Campaigns (LinkedIn + social planning, calendars, sequencing, creative briefs, repurposing, and performance learning)
• Influencer & Partner Activation (outreach, coordination, briefing, tracking, and
relationship management)
• Donor & Campaign Communications (fundraising/gifting campaigns, email and landing page messaging, calls-to-action)
• Partner & Nonprofit Communications (outreach sequences, onboarding kits,
relationship updates, program explainers)
• Student & Campus Communications (recruiting, ambassador messaging, campus / community engagement content)
• Content & Editorial (web copy, FAQs, documentation, long-form pieces, proofreading, style consistency)
• Internal Communications (updates, meeting notes, change logs, SOPs, coordination messaging that reduces confusion)
