ROLE OVERVIEW

We're looking for a driven, creative, and detail-oriented Social Media & Marketing Intern to join our growing marketing team on a part-time basis. This role is built for someone who lives and breathes social content. Someone who knows what stops a scroll, can write a compelling caption, and has a sharp eye for design. You'll work directly with our Marketing Lead, with a primary focus on social media content creation and web design, plus exposure to campaigns, email, and data. This is a high-impact role with real ownership. The work you create will be seen by clients, prospects, and leadership.

 

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Social Media & Content  ★ Primary Focus

  • Create for our monthly social media content calendar across Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn
  • Concept, write, and produce original content - posts, reels, stories, carousels - that stops the scroll
  • Develop a consistent brand voice and visual presence that reflects Block’s positioning
  • Research industry trends, competitors, and audience insights to sharpen our content strategy
  • Create vertical-specific content for our key industries: Hospitality, Retail, Construction, and Medical
  • Support the production of Block’s industry newsletter series
  • Monitor engagement metrics and iterate based on what's working

 

Web Design & Digital Presence

  • Assist in updating and improving Block’s website - landing pages, copy, and layout
  • Design web graphics, banners, and visual elements that match our brand standards
  • Support the creation of campaign-specific landing pages tied to paid ad efforts
  • Identify UX improvements and flag areas where the site experience can be sharpened
  • Collaborate on maintaining a cohesive look and feel across digital touchpoints
     

Design & Creative

  • Create on-brand graphics and visual assets using Canva or similar tools
  • Support branded collateral for events, campaigns, and sales materials
  • Assist with creative direction on ad campaigns including Meta and LinkedIn Lead Ads
  • Help maintain consistency across Block's visual identity
     

Email & Campaigns

  • Support the build-out of cold email and nurture sequences in HubSpot
  • Assist with copy drafting and A/B test idea generation for email campaigns
  • Help coordinate direct mail efforts using Lob and HubSpot workflows
  • Track campaign performance and surface key takeaways

 

Data & Reporting

  • Pull and organize lead data from HubSpot and internal sources
  • Support lead source analysis and pipeline reporting for leadership
  • Help maintain marketing dashboards and track KPIs across channels
  • Assist with list segmentation, deduplication, and data hygiene

 

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Web Design, or a related field
  • Passionate about social media - you follow trends, understand platforms, and have opinions about content
  • Strong visual eye and creative instincts; with a portfolio or social presence to share
  • Basic web design skills or familiarity with tools like Wix, Webflow, WordPress, Squarespace, or similar
  • Basic or Proficient in tools like Canva, HubSpot, Meta Ads, and Google Analytics
  • Strong written communication skills - you can write clearly and adapt tone for different audiences
  • Comfortable working with data and spreadsheets Excel/Google Sheets experience a plus
  • Self-starter who takes initiative, asks good questions, and follows through
  • Interest in fintech, financial services, or B2B marketing is a bonus
  • NYC-based
