National Campaigns & Engagement Intern - Summer 2026
Everytown for Gun Safety, the nation’s largest gun violence prevention advocacy group, is seeking an intern for the summer to join the National Campaigns and Engagement (NCE) team. NCE supports a variety of programmatic campaigns, learning, training and engagement of specific volunteer advocacy voices, including survivors of gun violence, leaders within Everytown’s grassroots movement and first time supporters beginning their involvement in our movement. This internship will primarily report to the Associate Director of the Everytown Survivor Network and provide logistical support to the Survivor Fellowship recruitment and selection process for the 2027 class of Fellows. Ancillary support is anticipated to support NCE’s broader distribution and organization of content and training resources supporting volunteer leaders with both Students Demand Action and Moms Demand Action.
Location: DC office (will adhere to a hybrid schedule)
Schedule: 20 hours per week
Duration of Internship: May 26, 2026 to early/ mid-August 2026
The minimum hourly rate for this role is $18.00.
Responsibilities:
Learn organizing practices and training specific to Everytown
Assist in logistical support to help manage recruitment and interviewing process for Survivor Fellow applicants, including scheduling, correspondence and tracking
Potential to participate in the Fellowship interview process
Assist with content development (utilizing existing toolkits and trainings) of micro-trainings
Assist with organization of digital resources
Assist with distribution of training content and materials
Approach work in a trauma-informed manner
Qualifications:
Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
Exceptional attention to detail
Self-starter
Excellent judgement, communication, writing, copyediting and organizational skills
Experience and proficiency in using products like Canva, 7 taps, learning management systems, zoom, google suite a plus
Demonstrated interest in gun violence prevention and volunteer advocacy
Encourage degree-seeking candidates with a focus on community organizing, social change, social work, public policy, and library sciences
