Design Intern - Summer 2026
Everytown for Gun Safety is seeking a passionate, thoughtful, and design intern to join our Creative team for the summer. This role will contribute to the organization’s goals by assisting in creating graphics for social media, email, web, video, merch, print, and research and policy documents, and will work across Everytown, Moms Demand Action, and Students Demand Action.
This paid internship will run from May 26 to August 14, 2026, and is limited to 24 hours per week. The intern is expected to work in the NYC office.
The minimum hourly rate for this role is $18.00.
In this role, you will:
Update existing materials and create new materials to support Everytown’s digital platforms, research, fundraising campaigns, and field initiatives
Attend Digital and Creative team meetings and contribute to strategy and brainstorms
Help the Creative team in managing information and projects throughout the organization
Execute design within Everytown brand guidelines
Assist with ad hoc tasks as needed
In this role, you will learn:
How to manage the design process for multiple projects, multiple formats, and multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced, non-profit environment
Best design and brand practices, including: type, form, color, and composition
How to work with designers and non-designers
Required Qualifications:
Current undergraduate students, graduate students, and recent graduates
are encouraged to apply
A robust portfolio that represents a solid foundation in typography, form, and composition (see "How to Apply" for submission instructions)
Strong communication and organizational skills
Fluency in Adobe Creative Cloud apps, Figma, and major social media platforms
Solutions-oriented with a knack for creativity and a flexible attitude
Passion for activism and an interest in the gun violence prevention movement
Nice to haves: animation, illustration, photography, and video editing skills
