About the role:

Uwill is seeking candidates for its 2026 summer internship program in the product department. This is a paid internship requiring 20 hours per week throughout June and July.

This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to learn how products actually get built, improved, and shipped. You’ll work directly with product managers, designers, and engineers on real problems—helping us better understand our users and improve the student experience across our platform.

Interns are integrated into the company with a focus on developing tangible and transferable skills. You will work directly with mentors that reflect your career interests, and you will not be occupied with busy work, but on projects and tasks that will meaningfully impact your learning and career experience as well as the company goals.

The ideal candidate skills:

We're looking for curious, motivated students who like to build things and aren't afraid to ask questions. The ideal candidate brings:

  • Curious and thoughtful—someone who naturally asks “why does this work this way?”
  • Strong communication skills (e.g., you can clearly explain what’s confusing, broken, or could be better)
  • Detail-oriented with a good eye for user experience
  • Comfortable working through ambiguity and forming opinions with incomplete information
  • Interest in product thinking: how features are scoped, prioritized, and validated
  • Collaborative and proactive—you take initiative rather than waiting for direction
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-moving, mission-driven environment
  • An analytical mindset: comfort reasoning through data, bugs, or ambiguous problems

Bonus: Experience with user research/surveys, data analysis, or previous work in tech or startups

Examples of Potential Projects:

  • Audit the product experience across web and mobile (different browsers, devices, and user flows) to identify gaps, bugs, and opportunities
  • Support product discovery by helping design and run student focus groups, surveys, and usability tests
  • Partner with PMs and designers to refine features, improve UX, and prioritize what to build next
  • Contribute to day-to-day product work, including writing specs, QA testing, and validating new features before launch
  • Work on product marketing initiatives to help go-to-market execution

Interested candidates should reach out to Julia Mahr, Chief of Staff, at jmahr@uwill.com. Please include a brief note about your background, what draws you to Uwill, and any relevant coursework or projects you'd like to highlight.
