About Olio Apps

Olio Apps is a Portland-based software development company helping businesses build, evaluate, and scale custom technology solutions. We work with growth-stage and established companies to deliver software that solves real problems. We're looking for a curious, self-motivated marketer to help us grow our digital presence and reach the right clients.

Role Overview

This is a hands-on, junior marketing role ideal for a recent MBA graduate with a marketing concentration or a motivated early-career marketer eager to build a broad B2B digital marketing skill set. This role directly contributes to pipeline generation and brand growth for a B2B software consultancy. You'll work alongside our team and collaborate with AI tools to research, create, and distribute content — while developing your own marketing instincts in a real-world B2B tech environment.

Responsibilities

Pipeline Generation & Outbound Strategy

Conduct outbound email outreach to targeted B2B SaaS companies to generate new sales leads

Research companies and key stakeholders (CTOs, engineering and product leaders) to ensure relevant, personalized messaging

Support messaging development for Olio Apps’ Build and Scale service offerings

Track outreach performance and follow up with interested prospects to book intro meetings

SEO & Content

Research target keywords and develop content recommendations to improve organic search rankings

Write and publish blog posts, landing page copy, and other web content — using AI as a collaborator, not a ghostwriter

Make updates to our website using our AI-assisted website tooling (no coding required — if you can think strategically and follow a process, you can do this)

Optimize existing site pages for search intent and readability

Website Analytics & Optimization

Use Google Analytics (or similar tools) to track website performance, identify drop-off points, and surface actionable insights

Implement and analyze session recording tools (e.g., Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity) to understand user behavior and recommend UX improvements

Present regular performance summaries with clear recommendations

Link Building

Identify relevant industry sites, directories, and publications for backlink opportunities

Conduct outreach to site owners and editors to build quality backlinks

Track outreach efforts and results in an organized manner

Social Media

Create and schedule posts for LinkedIn, X (Twitter), and Instagram aligned with Olio's brand voice

Monitor engagement and adjust content strategy based on performance

Maintain a consistent, professional posting cadence

YouTube Channel Management

Manage Olio's YouTube channel including uploads, descriptions, tags, thumbnails, and playlists

Assist with content ideation for video that supports SEO and brand authority

What We're Looking For

Recent MBA graduate with a marketing focus, or 1–2 years of relevant marketing experience

Familiarity with SEO fundamentals, Google Analytics, and social media platforms

Comfortable using AI writing tools thoughtfully — you know how to direct and edit AI output rather than just copy-paste it

Strong written communication skills and attention to brand consistency

Curious, self-directed, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively

Willingness to learn tools like Hotjar, Semrush/Ahrefs, and YouTube Studio

Nice to Have

B2B or SaaS marketing experience or coursework

Basic understanding of the software development industry

Experience managing or contributing to a YouTube channel or podcast

Compensation

$25–$35/hour based on experience, 15-30 hours per week. Rate is commensurate with demonstrated skills, portfolio, and relevant experience.
