KION North America builds industry‑leading forklifts and warehouse equipment while transforming our South Carolina plant through modern engineering and process innovation. Interns have the opportunity to influence real production processes used daily on the shop floor.

Location: Summerville, SC
Schedule: Full-time, on-site | ~12 weeks (Summer 2026)

Join our Industrial Engineering team to support vital time‑study and process‑routing projects that influence how our equipment is built.

What You’ll Do

  • Capture and document assembly cycle times using video, timing tools, and Excel.
  • Compare actual times to standard work and record deviations. 
  • Support creation of production routings and analysis of value‑add vs. non‑value‑add activity.
  • If skilled in CAD: update or create the plant’s 2D layout using AutoCAD. 

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to film processes for time studies and use timing devices.
  • Strong Excel documentation and data‑compilation skills.
  • Problem‑solving, organization, and attention to detail.
  • CAD/AutoCAD skills are a major plus. 
  • Engineering majors (all years welcome).
