Bakery Sales Associate

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Bakery Assistant to join our close knit bakery team. The ideal candidate will be outgoing, friendly and will support daily food preparation, assist customers, and ensure the bakery maintains high standards of cleanliness and food safety. Being able to multitask is a must. The Bakery Assistant will be instrumental in delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining smooth bakery operations.

  • Day Shift, Flexible Schedule
  • Full-Time or Part-Time
  • $15-$17/hour depending on experience

Duties

  • Prepare and assemble baked goods, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met
  • Operate POS systems such as TOAST POS for sales transactions
  • Assist customers with selections, answer questions about products, and provide excellent customer service
  • Handle cash and process payments accurately, including cash handling and cashiering duties
  • Maintain cleanliness of workstations, equipment, and customer areas in compliance with sanitation standards
  • Restock display cases and shelves as needed throughout the shift
  • Assist with food safety practices, including proper food handling and sanitation procedures
  • Support baking staff with basic kitchen tasks such as bussing, cleaning, and organizing supplies

Requirements

  • Previous experience in food service, quick service restaurants, or retail food environments is preferred
  • Knowledge of Toast POS system is a plus
  • Strong customer service skills with a friendly attitude and good communication abilities
  • Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and inventory management
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Understanding of food safety standards and sanitation practices
  • Experience with food preparation, baking, or culinary tasks is advantageous
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads as needed
