Multimedia Production Program Specialist 1

Minimum qualifications

 

  • Six years of experience producing multimedia communication projects using elements of audiovisual production, or graphic design for web, or graphic design for print; or
  • Bachelor's degree in video and/or TV and/or film production, web interface design, graphic design, communications design, or a closely related field and two years of experience as listed above

 

Preferred experience

 

  • Experience producing videos for public use
  • Experience creating interactive multimedia content
  • Experience in video editing

 

Job Duties

 

Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Producing informational videos for public use
• Maintaining the Department’s video library on YouTube and embedding video content on the Department’s public website
• Creating interactive multimedia content for internal and external web end users
• Producing content for social media
• Engaging with subject matter stakeholders to determine creative needs based on department goals, production output, and the intended audience
• Researching hardware and software solutions to achieve desired results
• Proposing resolutions to issues on existing multimedia projects
• Testing of web-based applications or program changes to improve usability
• Editing video using software packages including Adobe Creative Cloud and Adobe After Effects
• Operating photo/video camera equipment including related lighting, sound, and editing software and hardware
• Producing professional quality videos in a variety of onsite and offsite field settings
• Executing postproduction video editing for use on the web and other devices like multimedia kiosks
• Developing productions including script writing; identifying visual design elements, colors, and tone; selecting appropriate shooting locations; scheduling talent; collecting, storing, and maintaining appropriate release forms completed by talent; setting up video shoot locations with appropriate lighting, secondary microphones, equipment, backdrops, etc.; directing videos; editing the produced videos; adding effects and/or graphic elements; and formatting the content for different platforms
• Redesigning and recutting videos using different aspect ratios for airing on alternate platforms
• Recording and mixing audio
• Serving as a resource for other staff by communicating concepts and providing technical information on the status of projects
• Producing informational and instructional videos for internal staff training
• Creating procedures and conducting training for multimedia products
• Maintaining electronic filing system of projects in all statuses for tracking purposes, ensuring timely processing, and completion
• Managing multiple projects simultaneously and determining priorities to self-manage workflow and ensure production requirements and deadlines are met
• Exhibiting proficiency in the creation of infographics
• Producing and managing technology for live-stream webinars, including selection and presentation of audience questions.
• On-air hosting and interview skills
• Ensuring compliance with NYS Branding Guidelines
• Travelling, flexibility in scheduling
• Adhering to the Department’s time and attendance rules and regulations.
