About Communications Shop Internship Program


 

Communications Shop offers a variety of internship opportunities designed to provide meaningful professional development. CS offers stipends and can assist students seeking academic credit; however, stipend eligibility requirements must be met. CS provides both hybrid and remote internship options.


 

Position Summary:

The Graphic Design Intern will support the development of visual materials that power our purpose‑driven campaigns. This role is ideal for emerging designers who want to apply their skills in a professional environment while learning how strategic communications and design come together to advance social impact. The intern will assist with graphic design, layout development, and visual storytelling across multiple platforms.

  • Design graphics for digital campaigns, social media platforms, and educational materials under the guidance of the Creative Director.
  • Develop infographics and visual editorial elements that translate complex information into clear, engaging visuals.
  • Apply established branding and visual identity guidelines across projects to maintain consistency.
  • Support illustration, layout design, and basic motion/animation projects as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure visual storytelling aligns with campaign strategy and messaging.
  • Participate in creative brainstorms, feedback sessions, and internal reviews.



 

Qualifications:

  • Student or recent graduate in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field.
  • Basic proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar tools.
  • Strong eye for composition, color, and visual storytelling.
  • Interest in social impact and community‑centered design.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and meet deadlines.
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are a plus.

Work Schedule & Compensation:

  • 20 hours per week, with flexibility to accommodate academic schedules.
  • Compensation: Stipend provided - $800 monthly
  • This is a temporary, full-time/part‑time internship and does not include benefits.
