AV Setup and Strike Crew
Position Overview
The AV Production Setup & Strike Crew supports the preparation, setup, and breakdown of professional audio visual production equipment for corporate events, conferences, galas, school events, and large productions. Crew members assist with staging, sound systems, lighting, video displays, microphones, and other AV production equipment. This role works closely with the AV Technician, Production Lead, and Event Lead to ensure equipment is installed safely, tested properly, and executed at a professional production level. This position is ideal for individuals interested in learning live event production and gaining hands-on experience with professional AV equipment.
AV Event Setup Responsibilities
• Assist with loading AV equipment at the warehouse
• Transport production equipment to event venues
• Assist with stage setup and placement
• Set up professional sound systems including speakers, subwoofers, and front fills
• Run audio cables, power cables, and signal lines safely
• Assist with wireless microphone and podium microphone setups
• Assist with video display setups including TVs, projectors, and video walls
• Assist with lighting setups including stage wash lighting and uplighting
• Help place podiums, confidence monitors, and presentation equipment
• Follow setup diagrams and instructions from the Production Lead
Event Production Support
• Assist production team during rehearsals and run-throughs
• Help distribute microphones and presentation equipment
• Monitor cables and equipment during events
• Assist technicians if equipment adjustments are needed
• Maintain clean backstage and production areas
Event Strike (Breakdown) Responsibilities
• Assist with dismantling AV equipment after events
• Properly wrap and organize audio and power cables
• Break down staging, speakers, and lighting fixtures
• Safely pack equipment into cases
• Load equipment into transport vehicles
• Return equipment to the warehouse and assist with organization
Warehouse Responsibilities
• Assist with preparing AV equipment for upcoming events
• Follow equipment pull sheets and packing lists
• Check equipment for damage or missing parts
• Assist with warehouse organization and inventory
• Prepare cable packages and accessory kits
Requirements
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and late nights
• Strong work ethic and punctuality
• Comfortable working in a team production environment
• Willingness to learn professional AV equipment
Preferred Experience (Not Required)
• Interest in live event production
• Basic understanding of audio or lighting equipment
• Experience working events or stage production
• Warehouse or logistics experience
