DevSecOps Engineering Intern
RGS is seeking a highly motivated and security-focused Summer DevSecOps Engineering Intern to join our Professional Services organization. This is a hands-on, technical internship focused on DevSecOps methodologies, internal tooling development, and contributing to the success of customer engagements involving our flagship cloud-native products—Rancher, RKE2, and Harvester.
As a DevSecOps Engineering Intern in Professional Services, you will have a dual mission: to support the efficiency of the consulting team by developing internal assets and to gain real-world experience by shadowing consulting engineers and architects on customer engagements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work within the RGS lab and training environment and provide critical feedback on how to improve the onboarding/training experience both from a user experience and technical point of view.
- Shadow and collaborate with consulting engineers and architects on customer engagements, focusing on DevSecOps, cloud-native security, and infrastructure-as-code deployments.
- Design and develop internal automation scripts, tooling, and utilities to streamline and enhance Professional Services delivery and operations.
- Contribute to the creation of standardized collateral, including documentation, best practice guides, and reusable templates for secure cloud-native deployments.
- Research and develop a proof-of-concept initiative focused on integrating Generative AI (LLMs) into the DevSecOps engineering workflow, including use cases for AI assisted code generation, reports and documentation creation.
- Research and evaluate new security tools and practices within the DevSecOps pipeline for potential adoption by the consulting team.
- Reproduce and validate configuration or deployment issues in lab environments related to Rancher, RKE2, and Harvester.
- Participate in team meetings, knowledge-sharing sessions, and peer reviews of internal documentation and tooling.
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Academic focus, concentration, or significant coursework in Cybersecurity, Information Security, or a related DevSecOps discipline.
