Student Entertainment Sales Representative (Commission-Based)
Position Overview
MC Events is seeking outgoing, motivated college students to represent our entertainment services and help connect local businesses with engaging live experiences.
This role provides an opportunity for students interested in sales, entrepreneurship, hospitality, or live entertainment to gain real-world exposure to business development and entertainment booking.
MC Events produces and books a wide range of entertainment experiences including:
- Trivia
- Bingo
- Music Bingo
- Karaoke
- DJs
- Bands and live performers
Student representatives operate independently to identify potential opportunities, introduce businesses to MC Events services, and help facilitate bookings when interest is expressed.
In addition to the commission opportunity, students will have access to mentorship from MC Events leadership and sales professionals who have experience building entertainment programming across many different types of businesses.
Participants may attend occasional group conversations or strategy sessions where our team shares insight on topics such as:
- Identifying strong opportunities for entertainment programming
- Relationship-based sales approaches
- How entertainment helps businesses increase engagement and traffic
- Lead generation and outreach strategies
- Real-world examples from the entertainment and hospitality industry
These discussions are intended to provide students with insight into sales strategy, business development, and the live entertainment industry.
This role is ideal for students who enjoy meeting new people, building relationships with local businesses, and helping create events that bring communities together. Role Activities
Student representatives may choose to:
- Identify potential partners such as bars, breweries, restaurants, and entertainment-focused businesses
- Introduce businesses to MC Events entertainment offerings
- Connect interested decision-makers with the MC Events booking team
- Share information about available event formats such as trivia, karaoke, bingo, and live music
- Help facilitate conversations that lead to entertainment bookings
- Maintain notes about potential opportunities for follow-up
Representatives determine how and when they pursue opportunities and are not assigned required schedules.
MC Events provides information about our services and booking options to help representatives introduce businesses to our entertainment offerings.
Skills We Are Looking For

Helpful (but not required) experience includes:

- Interest in hospitality or live entertainment
- Networking or relationship-building experience
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be currently enrolled in a college or university
- Be comfortable communicating professionally with businesses
- Have reliable internet access and a computer
- Be interested in sales, networking, or business development
Students studying business, marketing, communications, hospitality, entrepreneurship, or performing arts are especially encouraged to apply, but all majors are welcome.
Compensation
This role operates as a commission-based independent contractor opportunity.
Representatives earn commissions for successful bookings of MC Events entertainment services.
Typical commission examples include:
- $100 commission for securing a recurring weekly trivia or karaoke booking
- 5% commission for booking DJs, bands, or other live entertainment
- 5% commission for one-time event bookings
There is no cap on earnings, and successful bookings may lead to ongoing commissions when venues schedule recurring events.
Compensation is based solely on commissions earned from successful bookings.
