Business & Strategy Analyst

PRIMARY FUNCTION: This new role is designed to strengthen the organization’s ability to make data-driven financial and strategic decisions. This position will lead business financial modeling and planning, and performance analysis across programs and revenue streams, ensuring the organization can grow sustainably and align resources with mission priorities. Business & Strategy Analyst provides analysis and insights that directly inform executive decision-making, business development, and long-term planning. 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Business Planning & Modeling 

Develop business plans for new initiatives, partnerships, and earned revenue opportunities. 

Work with finance and program teams to conduct cost-benefit analyses, scenario modeling, and financial forecasts to support decision-making. 

Identify opportunities for operational efficiency and revenue diversification. 

Business Financial Analysis 

Partner with CEO and Finance team to analyze program budgets, grants, and contracts for performance and sustainability. 

Create dashboards and models that translate complex data into actionable insights for leadership and the Board. 

Support development of ROI metrics for fundraising, grants, and program initiatives. 

Strategic Initiatives & Growth 

Provide analytical support for strategic planning processes, including market scans and competitive analyses. 

Conduct research on health policy, nonprofit finance trends, and peer organizations to inform strategy. 

Collaborate with Advancement, External Affairs, and Finance and Program leaders to evaluate opportunities for growth and scale. 

Board & Leadership Support 

Prepare financial and strategic analysis for Board committees (Finance, Development). 

Present findings and recommendations to leadership in clear, accessible formats. 

Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and CSAO on business development/resource allocation. 

 

Attend regular supervision, departmental, agency, or any other outside meetings as directed. 

Commitment to continued learning 

Attend, In-Person, a minimum of two annual agency events for clients (i.e. World AIDS Day, PREP Graduation, Poetry Reading, etc.) Thanksgiving and Holiday party do not qualify!! 

Fundraise or donate (give or get) $150 annually. 

Other duties as required to meet the mission of the agency and the Executive department.  

 

QUALIFICATIONS: MBA required. 2-3+ of professional experience in management consulting, finance, business analysis, or strategy, ideally with exposure to the nonprofit or health sectors. Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in Excel/financial modeling. Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and performance metrics. Excellent communication skills, with ability to present complex information to non-financial audiences. Entrepreneurial mindset; able to work independently and thrive in a mission-driven, resource-limited environment. Rigorous problem-solving and financial modeling, providing insight that shapes executive decisions, business-minded, collaborative partner. Belief in Alliance’s mission and commitment to inclusivity is desirable. COVID-19 vaccination required.
