Part-Time Field Marketing Representative (Community Outreach)

Company: Exterior Source | Bath Source
Location: Chesapeake, VA (meet at our office, then ride with the team to neighborhoods)
Job Type: Part-Time, In-Person
Pay: $15/hour + performance incentives

Overview
Build real marketing and communication experience while getting paid to be active and work with a team. As a Part-Time Field Marketing Representative, you’ll represent a well-established local home remodeling company, talk with homeowners in neighborhoods, and schedule free in-home consultations. This is not door-to-door sales—you’re focused on outreach, customer experience, and appointment setting.

About us
We’re a locally owned home remodeling company serving Hampton Roads for 30+ years. We’re known for quality work and doing the right thing for our customers and our team.

Why students like this role

  • Resume-building experience in marketing, communications, and customer engagement
  • Paid training, scripts, and coaching so you feel confident quickly
  • Team-based environment (you’ll go out with the crew, not alone)
  • Develop real skills: outreach, persuasion, professionalism, and handling objections
  • Opportunity to grow into Team Lead/Field Marketing roles

What you’ll do

  • Community outreach in residential neighborhoods: start conversations and represent the brand
  • Appointment setting: schedule free in-home consultations and confirm basic details
  • Qualify interest using a simple script (project type, timeline, decision-maker availability)
  • Customer advocacy at job completion: request referrals and short video testimonials (with permission; we provide the process)
  • Track activity and results (doors knocked, conversations, appointments, referrals, testimonials)

What we’re looking for

  • Strong communication, friendly attitude, and reliability
  • Comfortable talking with new people and working outdoors (walking/standing)
  • Comfortable using a smartphone for simple forms and updates
  • Reliable transportation to/from our Chesapeake office; once you arrive, we provide a company vehicle and you’ll travel to neighborhoods with the team

Great fit for
Marketing, Communications, Business, PR, Entrepreneurship, Sales, Sports Marketing, Hospitality, Student Ambassadors, and anyone who enjoys people-facing work.
