Job Summary
The Human Resources Intern provides hands‑on support to the HR team across onboarding, recruitment coordination, employee communications, and general HR operations. This role is designed for someone eager to learn the foundations of HR in a fast‑paced, people‑focused environment. The ideal candidate is organized, curious, and excited to gain practical experience while contributing to a positive employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with preboarding and onboarding activities, including preparing new hire packets, scheduling orientations, and supporting Day 1 logistics.
- Help maintain accurate employee records, HR files, and documentation in accordance with company policies.
- Support recruitment efforts by posting job openings, coordinating interview schedules, and updating the applicant tracking system (ATS).
- Conduct initial résumé reviews and assist with candidate communication under HR team guidance.
- Draft and format internal HR communications such as announcements, reminders, and newsletters.
- Help maintain HR content on intranet pages, shared drives, and communication channels.
- Assist with HR reporting, data entry, and process improvement initiatives.
- Support employee engagement activities, events, and recognition programs.
- Provide general administrative support to the HR team and respond to basic employee inquiries, escalating as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
- Strong interest in developing a career in Human Resources.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
Required Qualifications (Continued)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and ability to work collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Coursework or academic projects related to Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or Organizational Behavior.
- Familiarity with basic HR concepts such as onboarding, employee engagement, or recruitment (through classes or student organizations).
- Experience supporting administrative tasks in a school, volunteer, or office setting.
- Strong interest in employee experience, communication, or organizational culture.
- Comfort learning new systems, tools, and processes quickly.
- Demonstrated initiative through campus involvement, leadership roles, or volunteer work.

Work Environment
