Music Journalism Editor

Musicade Spring 2026 Internship Program

Duration: Mid-March 2026 – End of May 2026
Location: Remote
Time Commitment: 8-10 hours per month

Stipend: $750 total
Expected Output: 2–4 visual editorial packages per month

Musicade is building infrastructure for independent artists. As the music industry evolves through lawsuits, ownership debates, streaming reforms, and platform disruption, we are launching a Musicade News & Culture vertical focused on investigative music journalism and cultural accountability.

This internship is designed for students who care about music, research, fairness in creative industries, and storytelling.

This is a resume-building opportunity with real publishing experience and campaign integration.

Previous Musicade interns have gone on to roles and internships at record labels, event production companies, marketing agencies, and technology companies.

Music Journalism Editor 

Overview

We are seeking 1–2 Editorial Interns to act as lead editors and quality control for Musicade’s journalism vertical.

You will help refine voice, structure, clarity, and depth.

You are the gatekeeper of tone and integrity.

What You’ll Do

• Review and provide feedback on 2–6 articles per month
• Ensure accuracy, clarity, and strong storytelling
• Strengthen headlines and positioning
• Help shape Musicade’s editorial tone
• Mentor journalism interns

Ideal Candidate

• Strong writing and editing background
• Detail-oriented
• Passionate about fairness in the music industry
• Interested in media leadership
• Comfortable giving constructive feedback

Responsibilities

• Edit journalism submissions for clarity, structure, and tone
• Ensure factual accuracy and source credibility

Minimum Requirements

• Upper-level undergraduate or graduate student preferred
• Prior editorial experience required
• Editing sample required
