Coding/STEM tutor and Camp Leader

About the Role

We are looking for a Code Sensei to join our team of dynamic, energetic, and forward-thinking minds, all working toward one common goal: providing a fun, safe, and engaging learning environment for children.

Our Senseis are the lifeblood of our Code Ninjas center. This role is responsible for day-to-day coaching, student engagement, and helping young minds build confidence through coding, problem-solving, and creativity.

Preferred Skills (Plus, Not Required)

Experience with Minecraft Modding, coding, or video game design

Familiarity with Roblox Studio

Basic knowledge of AI and cybersecurity concepts

Understanding of basic circuitry/electronics

Experience with video editing or digital content creation

Comfortable speaking in front of groups and presenting camp or class content

Responsibilities

Learn and deliver Code Ninjas curriculum through hands-on coaching and guidance

Create and maintain a positive, safe, and encouraging environment for all students

Work with children to assess skill levels and guide individualized learning paths

Provide clear and constructive feedback to parents on student progress

Engage students through active coaching, motivation, and mentorship

Follow daily opening and closing procedures

Maintain a clean and organized dojo throughout the day, meeting corporate cleanliness standards

Collaborate with fellow Senseis and leadership to ensure a high-quality student experience

Qualifications

Experience working with children ages 7 and up (mentoring, coaching, tutoring, teaching, childcare, etc.)

Experience working with the general public or in a customer-facing role

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work well on a team and collaborate with others

Interest in coding and technology, or the ability to quickly learn basic programming concepts

Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities may change

Positive attitude, high energy, and a passion for working with kids
