Game Industry Startup Lead

Position Overview

 

 

The Game Industry Startup Lead (Youth Track) will build and lead Triple-I Future Unicorn’s game and interactive media startup pathway for middle and high school students.

 

This role combines:

 

Game design leadership

Startup incubation mentorship

Curriculum architecture

Youth innovation coaching

 

 

The Lead will guide students from concept to prototype, culminating in demo showcases and investor-style pitch presentations.

 

 

 

 Mission of the Role

 

 

To transform creative youth into structured startup thinkers by building a professional-level game and interactive venture incubation track.

 

 

 

 Key Responsibilities

 

 

 

 Program Design & Strategy

 

 

Develop the Youth Game Startup Incubation Framework (8–12 week model)

Define track focus areas:

 

Game design & systems

Narrative & interactive storytelling

Educational games

XR / immersive experiences

Social impact games

Design learning milestones from concept → MVP → Demo Day

 

 

 

 

 Student Venture Mentorship

 

 

Guide middle and high school students in:

 

Concept development

Gameplay mechanics

Narrative architecture

UX and player journey

Prototype development

Coach teams on:

 

Collaboration

Presentation skills

Creative iteration

Provide structured feedback and growth plans

 

 

 

 

 Startup & Business Integration

 

 

Introduce youth-level startup fundamentals:

 

Market research

Target audience analysis

Monetization basics

Pitch deck creation

Prepare teams for:

 

Internal demo showcases

Youth pitch competitions

Future Unicorn Demo Day

 

 

 

 

 Showcase & Brand Building

 

 

Organize:

 

Game Demo Nights

Interactive Exhibitions

Parent showcases

Develop a strong public-facing portfolio culture

Represent Triple-I Future Unicorn at local innovation events

 

 

 

 

 Cross-Department Collaboration

 

 

Work with Triple-I Academy curriculum team

Collaborate with marketing for branding materials

Build industry mentorship network (game studios, designers, investors)

 

 

 

 

 Target Students

 

 

Middle school (advanced track)

High school (entrepreneurial & portfolio-driven)

Students interested in:

 

Game development

Interactive media

Creative technology

Startup innovation

 

 

 

 

 Required Qualifications

 

 

Background in Game Design, Interactive Media, XR, or related field

Experience leading creative teams or multidisciplinary projects

Strong understanding of:

 

Game systems

Narrative design

Unreal / Unity (preferred)

Ability to translate complex concepts into youth-friendly learning

Passion for mentoring and developing young creators

 

 

 

 

 Preferred Qualifications

 

 

Experience working with K-12 students

Startup or incubation exposure

Portfolio of shipped or exhibited projects

Strong communication skills with parents and stakeholders
