Marketing & Ops Intern (sports tech startup)
What We Do
At our core, we're an online marketplace connecting athletes & coaches for in-person training. Think Airbnb or Rover, but for youth sports. It’s our job to help coaches grow, or start, their training business by providing them with the technology & marketing needed to succeed.
What You’ll Do
As a Marketing & Ops Manager, you'll embody our mission of providing young athletes with better opportunities to succeed. A strong work ethic, humble approach, and willingness to be a team player are key qualities in a successful hire for our team. Please note that this opportunity is for a remote, part-time, unpaid internship role. We are happy to work with your program if obtaining class credits is an option!
Responsibilities:
● Perform market research/due diligence to identify growth opportunities, target markets, and competitive positioning.
● Prospect new coaches with creative, compelling and break-through-the noise tactics and strategies.
● Support DTD operational needs across the platform, including coach onboarding, client support, and marketplace quality.
● Execute SEO and marketing initiatives, including content creation, keyword research, landing page optimization, and growth experiments.
● Help launch pilot program development and implementation.
To succeed in this role, you will need to be excited about working at a sports tech startup, scaling a two-sided marketplace, and learning to build effective growth campaigns. You should also have:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Critical thinking and analytical skills
- Flexibility and coachability. We’re always fine-tuning our approach and we expect you to do the same.
Expected Start Date: May 2026. The exact start date is entirely flexible to your scheduling constraints and preferences.
Expected Weekly Hours: 10-15 hours.
Expected Duration: This internship will extend through the end of Summer 2026. At that point, together we can evaluate if you would like to continue further with Athletes Untapped’s ongoing staffing needs.
