About Beam

Beam is a creator-tech startup that enables creators, coaches, and experts to monetize their time through instant 1:1 and group bookings, with a frictionless UX and direct creator-to-fan connection. Beam’s mission is to create the fastest, simplest way for creators to sell their expertise without scheduling friction, paywalls, or complicated funnels.

We are early-stage but already have:

●  A functional product with core booking + availability logic built

●  Payment infrastructure in place

●  A working frontend (Next.js / React)

●  A backend with booking engine, user auth, creator dashboards

●  A growing pipeline of creators ready to onboard

●  A clear roadmap toward launch

Role Overview

Beam’s Founding Engineer will work directly with the Founder/CEO and the CTO to expand and optimize the existing application. You will own major feature development, contribute to architectural decisions, and influence the product direction based on user behavior and creator needs. This is a role for a builder who wants meaningful ownership, early responsibility, and the ability to shape a real product from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

●  Ship new features end-to-end across frontend and backend

●  Improve and refine existing systems: booking flow, user dashboards, onboarding, creator availability, etc.

●  Participate in product ideation and user-driven problem solving

●  Identify and fix performance issues, bugs, and UX blockers

●  Add APIs, integrations, and automation where needed

●  Assist in preparing Beam for launch and user onboarding

Skills & Abilities

●  Strong experience with React, Next.js, Typescript

●  Solid backend skills (Convex, AWS, Clerk, Doppler)

●  Experience integrating external APIs (Stripe, social APIs, scheduling APIs)

●  Comfort working end-to-end on full-stack features

●  Strong problem-solving and product intuition

●  Ability to work in a fast-paced, scrappy environment with minimal guidance

●  Bonus: experience with scheduling systems, creator platforms, or handling the backend of scarcity marketing
