General Business Operations Internship

Future First Publishing (FFP) is seeking a part-time General Business Intern to support day-to-day operations across business development, marketing/PR, social media, data/analytics, and grant/fundraising efforts. This is a pragmatic, do-the-work role for someone who is organized, tech-savvy, and aligned with FFP’s mission: long-range thinking, civic clarity, and a limited-government orientation. The schedule is flexible (5–10 hours/week--more if you want) and can accommodate exams and major deadlines; the goal is to grow this into a paid position after graduation.

What you’ll do

Business Development: research and build targeted outreach lists (media, partners, podcasts, events), develop novel outreach opportunities, and track responses and follow-ups. Subscriber number building and engagement are the keys to success.

Marketing, PR & Publicity: assemble media content, maintain press lists, draft and schedule announcements, help prepare pitches for podcasts and media placements.

Social Media Creative & Management: prepare post copy variations, size/organize creative assets, generate memes!, schedule posts across channels, track basic performance, and surface insights that matter.

Data Management & Analytics: maintain spreadsheets and dashboards (traffic, subscribers, campaign metrics), perform simple analysis, and present findings clearly for decisions.

Grant Research & Writing/Fundraising Efforts: this title speaks for itself, include database management and communications effort.

General Operations: calendar coordination, light document prep, version control, and keeping small, directed projects moving without minute-to-minute hand-holding.

Skills and attributes we actually need

Office-savvy: comfortable and fast in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

AI-literate: can prompt and drive AI tools for accurate, timely outputs (drafts, summaries, lists, cleaning data, image generation).

Technically competent: learns new tools quickly; not afraid of light troubleshooting.

Organized and mission-driven: reliable with calendars, checklists, and status updates; moves things from “in progress” to “done.”

Learner’s posture: sponge-like curiosity and the initiative to figure things out.

Math-comfortable: solid with percentages, basic statistics, error-checking, and even Excel-formula development, if possible.

Communication clarity: concise written updates, clean formatting, no ambiguity.

Voice and conviction: comfortable advocating for ideas and quality; alignment with a limited/small-government philosophy and individual responsibility.

Minimum expectations

Current major relevant to the work (business, econ, data/analytics, comms/PR, public policy, marketing, or similar).

Availability: 5–10 hours per week (more if you want and can handle it), flexible timing; responsive to short daily check-ins by text or call for next steps/status.

Reliable internet, modern laptop, and familiarity with mainstream productivity tools.

Professional discretion; you’ll handle draft content and media lists that shouldn’t circulate.

Location & schedule

Actually in West Palm Beach, Florida--not Wellington or Jupiter or Boca Raton. Remote. Work asynchronously with short daily check-ins.

Start: as soon as practical.

Duration: semester-length with option to extend.

Compensation & path

Part-time internship; massive educational and learning experience than you will not find anywhere else; great for learning how to build your own business when you decide to do so.

Intent: convert to a paid role as soon as feasible after graduation, based on performance and mutual fit.
