Turtle Up is a registered nonprofit based in Ohio with 501(c)(3) designation. Our mission is to protect Ghana’s sea turtles through sustainable, community-based conservation. We envision a future where marine wildlife and coastal communities thrive together.

We are seeking a Fundraising Intern who is highly motivated, organized, and passionate about environmental conservation and social impact. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, and marketing, while directly supporting conservation work.

Details

  • Part-time position: 10-20 hours per week preferred, less or more is possible and schedule is flexible
  • Unpaid internship with potential for college credit if institution allows it
  • Remote work majority with potential in-person opportunities (depending on intern’s location and interest)
  • Duration: semester-based, with preference for longer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and executing fundraising events and campaigns
  • Research potential donors and grant opportunities
  • Draft fundraising communications and acknowledgment letters
  • Support the creation of fundraising presentations and materials
  • Assist with social media strategies to engage donors and raise awareness
  • Contribute and collaborate with the marketing committee to develop and sustain marketing strategies for fundraising initiatives
  • Help prepare monthly fundraising reports
  • If possible, help find, create, and maintain donor databases and records 
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Current college student or recent graduate, preferably in nonprofit management, marketing, communications, or related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and Google Workspace
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Passion for marine conservation, wildlife protection, and community development
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience with database management preferred
  • Experience with Canva would be ideal
