SOJC Commencement Video Production Internship

This position will be a member of a team of senior SOJC students that will film, edit, and produce a long-form video to be displayed at the opening of the SOJC Commencement Ceremony. 

Duties:

  • Work with a team of students to plan, shoot, and edit video highlighting the SOJC and its students that will be shown at the opening of Commencement 
  • Video post-production and file management
  • Operate and maintain video and photography equipment
  • May contribute to writing a script


The mission of the SOJC Communication Team is to promote the School of Journalism and Communication to prospective students as well as to inform current students, alumni, faculty, and the public about the school’s successes, people, activities, and endeavors.

Minimum Requirements

  • Knowledge of video best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, shoot, and edit multimedia stories for targeted audiences
  • Strong working knowledge of Adobe Premiere, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Lightroom
  • Proficiency in using a DSLR camera, including lighting, composition, and photo styling
  • Video editing skills, including knowledge of digital file specs and formats
  • Collaboration skills and desire to work as part of a dynamic and creative communication team
  • Strong time management skills, including the ability to plan strategically and meet deadlines
  • Motivation and ability to self-manage, multitask, and be proactive
  • Ability to be professional with stakeholders and sources
  • Ability to work independently, in a team environment, and with people from diverse backgrounds
