Assistant Director of Game Presentation & Live Events
JOB SUMMARY:
The Assistant Director of Game Presentation & Live Events is responsible for overseeing game entertainment and the fan experience in-stadium and beyond. This person is also responsible for overseeing the Fan Event initiatives within the organization. Concentrating on increasing and strengthening the Green Bay Packers fan base through programs targeted at multiple fan demographics in addition to extending the reach of the Packers brand through Game Days, Events, and Promotions.
The position involves public contact and exceptional communication and planning skills.
Job Responsibilities:
- Plan and lead the game day operations and entertainment plan that enhances the game day experience for over 80,000 fans in attendance and compliments all other organizational goals and objectives as it relates to games and other Packers events.
- Aid the Director in organizing and operating all aspects of game presentation and run of show for all home games and 3rd party-bowl events. Assist in producing content and directing each game.
- Assist the Director in overseeing the technical operation of the Lambeau Field video production facility and scoreboard control room.
- Ability to work with a wide range of community leaders, entertainment groups, celebrities, media, fans, etc. including senior level leadership.
- Lead and manage a staff of over 200 volunteers/workers each game day.
- Work in a collaborative effort with all departments and external partners to produce a world-class football game experience.
- Plan and coordinate all pre-game, in-game and post-game entertainment.
- Serve as liaison with the NFL game operations staff to keep abreast of new opportunities and comply with NFL guidelines and rules.
- Work in a collaborative effort with the game day video and audio operations.
- Plan and execute all activities, including logistics and communications for organizational events including Family Night, Kickoff Concert, In-stadium Concerts, Soccer Match, College Football Games, Draft Day, etc.
- Conduct research and develop reports on games and events to evaluate the achievement of marketing and customer satisfaction goals.
- Manage the Game Entertainment Internship Program and Pack Attack Street Team Program. Developing and implementing an intern training program through Pack Attack hires.
- Work closely with Corporate Sales to be a resource for sponsorship and game entertainment initiatives.
- Assist with managing the home-field advantage projects and create strategic plans to increase awareness internally and externally.
- Effectively manage budgets over 1 million dollars, including working with third-party vendors to ensure the club is receiving maximum value.
- Create game scripts and manage PA copy through Shoflo, a web-based scripting program.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree, with experience and knowledge of planning and implementing large and small events.
- Ten to Fifteen years’ experience in Game Presentation or Game Entertainment role.
- Thorough knowledge of marketing and entertainment industry.
- Thrive in collaborative environment, be flexible and understand/respect needs of various departments within the building.
- Strong project management skillset with the ability to oversee projects from beginning to end and develop them effectively through a cross-functional team.
- Ability to coordinate and organize meetings.
- Ability to manage game day staff and multi-task for a large entertainment production.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of internal and external customers.
- Ability to prepare effective written materials including correspondence and reports.
- Requires exceptional customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to listen to the needs of fans and internal customers and develop recommendations, which address those needs
- Ability to negotiate vendor agreements.
- Passion for the business of Sports.
- Be available for all home game weekends and must have the ability to work long hours including evenings, weekends and holidays as well as have the ability to work outside in various weather conditions. Many weeks exceed typical 5-day work week/hours. Also need to be willing to travel.
- Ability to lift and shuffle items up to 50 pounds a must.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Ability to walk, reach, bend, and twist
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and push/pull heavy objects.
- Will be exposed to disagreeable environmental conditions, including working outside in all weather conditions.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
- Comfortable and self-motivated to work alone for extended periods of time.
