Interdisciplinary Neurotech Fellow
Mindspeller, U.S. Expansion
Mindspeller is a consumer neuroscience company expanding its European neurotechnology model into the United States. We build human-centered neurotechnology that helps people understand how they think, how they adapt, and who they are. Our work combines neuroscience, wearable technology, design, and communication to translate neural data into insights that support clarity and peace of mind. Mindspeller is guided by a question that unites all of us: Who am I? We help people gain peace of mind by better understanding how they think and adapt.
What Mindspeller does
Most consumer wearables today focus on physiological signals such as cardiovascular activity, sleep, or movement, for example Fitbit, WHOOP, or the Apple Watch by Apple. Mindspeller takes a complementary approach by working with neurological data. Using lightweight, wearable EEG technology, we translate brain signals into insights that help people better understand how they think, respond, and adapt. These insights are designed to be interpretable, ethical, and grounded in neuroscience, without reducing people to opaque scores or automated judgments. Our focus is not optimization for its own sake, but clarity, making neural information understandable and usable in everyday contexts.
About the Fellowship
This is an intentionally interdisciplinary and open-ended role. Fellows work across research, design, technology, and communication as we adapt and scale Mindspeller’s EU-based model for the U.S. context. Rather than assigning a narrow job description, we shape the fellowship around individual strengths and interests, while offering exposure to how consumer neurotechnology is built, communicated, and responsibly introduced into new markets.
Example areas of contribution
Neuroscience and research translation, including interpretation, communication, and ethical framing of neural data
Pre-health and applied science bridging neuroscience with education, healthcare-adjacent, or student-facing environments
Marketing, outreach, and ISO-aligned communication translating an established European model into the U.S. ecosystem
Design and visual communication such as UX/UI, graphic design, motion, and data visualization
Fashion and wearable design focused on form, comfort, aesthetics, and the cultural presence of neurotechnology as something people wear in public
Technology and data work including software support, signal workflows, or interdisciplinary collaboration with engineers
Depth in one area combined with curiosity about others is ideal.
Who this is for
We welcome applicants with backgrounds in:
Neuroscience, psychology, or cognitive science
Pre-health, nursing, or clinical-adjacent fields
Software engineering or data
Graphic design, UX/UI, or motion
Fashion design or wearable-focused design
Marketing, storytelling, or community-building
This role is a strong fit for individuals who enjoy learning across domains, thinking critically about technology’s impact, and working in early-stage environments.
What we value
Thoughtful and ethical engagement with emerging technology
Clear communication and intellectual curiosity
Comfort with ambiguity and iteration
Interest in building tools that support understanding rather than optimization alone
