Cookies for Kids’ Cancer is a national 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to funding innovative research to develop new, less toxic treatments for pediatric cancer. Since our founding, we’ve granted more than $25 million to support lifesaving research—powered by grassroots campaigns, community partnerships and passionate supporters who believe kids deserve better treatments and brighter futures.
Internship Overview
Cookies for Kids’ Cancer is seeking outgoing, motivated college students to join our Community Engagement Team for Summer 2026. This paid internship is ideal for students interested in nonprofit work, communications, fundraising, marketing, or community organizing.
Interns will play a key role in supporting two of our major initiatives:
- Go Gold Campaign (raising awareness and funds for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month)
- College Campaign (engaging college students and campuses nationwide)
Key Responsibilities College Campaign
- Research and identify potential college ambassadors, sports teams, student organizations and university departments to support College Campaign fundraising efforts
- Conduct outreach to secure partnerships and drive campus-wide engagement
- Develop and support strategies to increase awareness of Cookies for Kids’ Cancer among college students
- Track, organize and analyze outreach data to inform future campaign improvements
Key Responsibilities Go Gold Campaign
- Research and identify schools, local businesses and community groups for targeted outreach
- Conduct cold outreach via phone and email to secure campaign participation in key areas
- Visit local businesses door-to-door to promote and sell Cookies for Kids’ Cancer campaign materials
- Hand-deliver campaign assets and materials to participating partners
- Support planning, promotion and execution of community fundraising campaigns
- Capture photos and short videos during outreach for marketing and social media content
- Assist with outreach tracking, follow-up and data organization
- Track and analyze engagement data to help improve future campaigns
Internship Details
- 10 hours per week during normal business hours (Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM EST)
- $15 per hour
- Hybrid/field-based role (local travel within your city required)
Qualifications
- Must live within 30 minutes of one of the following cities:
- Charlotte, NC
- Richmond, VA
- Los Angeles, CA
- Orlando, FL
- Outgoing, confident and comfortable speaking with new people
- Strong communication skills (phone, email and in-person)
- Organized, reliable and self-motivated
- Applicants must have just completed their 1st or 2nd year of college
- Must be able to legally work in the United States
