Position Summary

The Elementary Technology Teacher is responsible for delivering high-energy, project-based instruction to elementary students. You will guide students through a comprehensive digital literacy and creative suite curriculum, from foundational typing and "unplugged" logic to professional-grade Adobe applications. This role is essential to our mission of providing an immersive Arts and Technology experience that prepares students for the secondary level and beyond.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Digital Media Mastery: Teach elementary students the fundamentals of the Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects, Lightroom, and Audition) and Apple Digital Media tools (iMovie, GarageBand).
  • Foundational Coding: Introduce students to the world of computer science through entry-level coding platforms like Scratch and Code.org, as well as simple robotics.
  • Project-Based Learning (PBL): Design and facilitate hands-on projects that allow students to solve problems and showcase their creativity.
  • Core Skills Instruction: Ensure students develop essential 21st-century skills, including touch-typing, digital citizenship, and online safety.
  • Instructional Leadership: Develop lesson plans that translate complex technical concepts into age-appropriate, engaging learning experiences.

Qualifications

  • Licensure: Valid Utah State Elementary Teaching Certification.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Technical Fluency: Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite and Apple macOS/iPadOS ecosystems.
  • Philosophy: A deep commitment to project-based learning and the integration of technology within a K-9 charter school environment.

  • Creative Background: Experience in digital arts, filmmaking, or coding is highly desirable.
  • Pioneer Spirit: A teacher who stays current with emerging tech trends and is eager to bring new tools into the classroom.
