The Nebraska Clean Cities and Communities Coalition (NEC4) is now accepting applications for our Spring 2026 internship cohort!
NEC4 is one of more than 75 Department of Energy-designated Clean Cities and Communities coalitions that work locally in urban, suburban, and rural communities to strengthen the nation’s environment, energy security, and economic prosperity. We work to deploy affordable, efficient, and clean transportation; energy-efficient mobility systems; and fuel-saving technologies and practices.
Here are more details about the internship:
- You will play a vital role in expanding public awareness and advancing the markets of advanced vehicle technologies, alternative fuels, and practices that reduce petroleum consumption.
- Interns will get hands-on experience in event planning, communications or marketing, content creation, air quality research, community outreach, and more!
- Intern projects include:
- Assisting NEC4 staff in gathering information and reaching out to potential collaborators.
- Developing a social media calendar and managing posts across platforms.
- Designing a community event booth and attending events to represent NEC4.
- Interns will work 15-20 hours per week over 15 weeks (one week off unpaid time). The work schedule can be adjusted to accommodate classes and exams.
- Accelerate offers $15/hr for undergraduate students.
- This internship will take place from February 9, 2026, to May 22, 2026, with the option to continue, and applications are due by 11:59 PM on Friday, February 6, 2026.
