Food And Beverage Intern

Amor Patriae Ducit, or, Love of Country Leads, is the anthem of the Union League of Philadelphia. We are the #1 City Club in the Country and a designated five-star platinum club looking for platinum quality individuals and passion to match. The Food and Beverage intern position is an immersion into the workings of a top Food and Beverage operation, and a masterclass on marketing, finance, and inventory in a private club. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Support the Manager and Assistant Manager in implementing all service standards.
  • Onboard and train host staff, ensuring all standards are upheld.
  • Assist in maintaining service excellence on the dining room floor; understand flow and support team needs.
  • Personalize member experiences through “plus one touches” (e.g., flowers, cakes, handwritten notes).
  • Build relationships across departments and maintain knowledge of all Union League properties.
  • Manage all inbound calls and emails; ensure member and guest requests are handled promptly and accurately.
  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to keep member engagement active and consistent.
  • Create weekly outreach messages to increase cover counts and overall business.
  • Work efficiently in SevenRooms and support staff with related questions.
  • Collaborate with departments and culinary teams to generate effective marketing content.

 

Skills and Requirements:

  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to work effectively with chefs, managers, and dining teams.
  • Excellent time-management abilities.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Prior service or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Office 365, SevenRooms, Jonas, and Beverage Metrics.
  • Solid foundation in food, beverage, and service knowledge.

 

Hours: 

  • Full-time seasonal position (40–50 hours per week).
  • Nights and weekends required.
  • Mandatory holiday weekends: Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day.
