About the Role
We are seeking meticulous editors and writers to review and refine video advertisement summaries for grammatical accuracy, stylistic consistency, and adherence to our annotation guidelines. As a QA Annotator, you will ensure that every summary meets our rigorous standards for clarity, precision, and professional polish. This quality-focused position is ideal for candidates with backgrounds in copywriting, editing, or literary studies who possess an exceptional command of English grammar and an eye for detail.
What You'll Do
- Review video advertisement summaries for grammatical accuracy, including punctuation, syntax, subject-verb agreement, and sentence structure
- Edit submissions for clarity, concision, and adherence to style guidelines
- Identify and correct errors in word choice, tone, and register
- Evaluate summaries against source videos to verify factual accuracy and completeness
- Provide constructive, actionable feedback to annotators to support continuous improvement
- Flag recurring issues and contribute to the refinement of annotation guidelines
Who We're Looking For
Education
- MFA in Creative Writing, Fiction, Nonfiction, or Screenwriting (in progress or completed)
- OR Master's degree in English, Literature, Communications, Journalism, or a related field
- OR Bachelor's degree in a writing-intensive discipline with substantial professional editing or copywriting experience
Skills & Experience
- Exceptional command of English grammar, punctuation, and usage
- Professional experience in copywriting, copy editing, or editorial work
- Strong ability to identify errors in syntax, word choice, and sentence structure
- Experience providing clear, constructive feedback on written work
- Familiarity with style guides (AP, Chicago, or house styles)
- Keen attention to detail and commitment to consistency
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a remote environment
Preferred
- Background in literary studies, linguistics, or rhetoric
- Experience in media studies, advertising, or visual communications
- Previous QA, proofreading, or quality assurance experience
- Previous remote or freelance work experience
