Gate Hill Day Camp | Summer Position
Gate Hill Day Camp is seeking an energetic, inspiring, and confident Dance and Cheer Specialist to lead dynamic dance and cheer programming for campers entering 2nd grade through entering 8th grade (Sr. Pathfinders to Sr. Mountaineers).
This role blends dance education with cheerleading fundamentals to create a high-energy, inclusive, and empowering experience for campers. The Dance and Cheer Specialist designs and leads engaging lessons that include multiple dance styles, cheer routines, motion technique, jumps, formations, performance skills, and team-based choreography, all in a fun, supportive, and age-appropriate environment.
You will help build confidence, teamwork, creativity, and leadership in campers while creating a positive space where self-expression and movement thrive. This position plays a key role in camp performances, special events, and community-building activities.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Designing and leading age-appropriate dance and cheer programs
Teaching multiple dance styles and cheerleading fundamentals (motions, jumps, chants, routines, formations, performance skills)
Creating weekly lesson plans aligned with camp themes and camper development
Developing choreography and structured routines for groups and electives
Maintaining a safe, positive, and organized activity environment
Training and supporting counselors and LITs in the activity area
Encouraging teamwork, confidence, and positive camper behavior
Managing equipment and ensuring safety procedures are followed
Supporting camp-wide events, performances, and special programs
